A Board of Trustees was formed and appointed Margaret Beck as a foundation Principal. There were two old classrooms on site which were used for CCD. Then two more classrooms and an administration building came on the back of a truck from Tihoi School.

1997
The school officially opened on January 28 1997 with a roll of 66 pupils, with Bishop Denis Browne unveiling the plaque and blessing the school on 16 March to coincide with St Patrick’s day. The school started to grow rapidly in the first year.

1998
Toward the end of 1997 a purpose built classroom from Keith Hay Homes arrived on site to accommodate the roll growth. With the hard work of the school PTFA, Lakeland Lions and Taupo Lions Clubs, a new playground was built.

Two more classrooms were added early in 1999 and another two at the beginning of 2000.

With the hard work of the PTFA fundraising and the generous donations from the Southern Trust, the Taupo Cosmopolitan Club and the Lion Foundation, the existing playground was extended and is still just as popular today as it was when installed.
